Ronald Reagan was born in 1911 in Tampico, Illionois, and died in 2004. In between, he became a major Hollywood movie star, before moving into politics, and becoming the 40th President of the United States of America. Reagan was known for a very Eighties love of free markets and competition, very much in tune with the zeitgeist of the day. Reagan held raw capitalism in high regard, and his America existed at a time when the Cold War with Communist Russia was at its height. Whether you agreed with his politics or not, Reagan is now seen as on of the iconic figures of the 1980s.
