The Twist is probably the 1960's most famous dance craze, and spawned hit songs such as Twist And Shout (most famously recorded by The Beatles), as well as Chubby Checker's many Twist records including "The Twist", "Let's Twist Again", and "Slow Twistin'". The Twist is not quite as simple as many younger people think, and consists of more than simply throwing your knees from one side to the other whilst changing altitude.
If you were there in the early 1960's you will almost certainly have performed The Twist, or at least been present when a large crowd did.
