This design originally comes from the early 1970's, and the anti Vietnam protests. With thousands of young men being plucked from their lives and sent to fight in what many saw as an unjust war, protesting voices were plentiful. Today, with wars raging in the Middle East, and again with many doubting the reasoning behind them, this design can find a new place in history, as the friends and families of the troops fighting overseas long for the safe return of their loved ones. Note - yes, we know that they aren't all boys these days, but remember that this design comes from the early seventies!
