CCCP were the letters worn on the Cosmonauts, soliders and athletes of the Soviet era. USSR was an English language version of the name for the Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik. In the Russian alphabet, CCCP was the correct abbreviation. Today, the letters represent a faraway and mysterious place, whose representatives wearing these letters were only seen in the wider world when venturing in to space or the world of sport.
