Starting with Jonathan Archer's Starship Enterprise NX-01, the name Enterprise has become famous in the Star Trek universe. The original series' USS Enterprise NCC-1701 had many famous adventures and an extensive refit before being destroyed and replaced by the Enterprise-A. The ill-fated maiden voyage of the Enterprise-B saw Captain James T. Kirk apparently die saving refugees. The Enterprise-C was destroyed fighting Romulans despite help from the future Enterprise-D, which was itself destroyed by Klingons working in league with Dr Soran. The Sovereign-class Enterprise-E saw us through to the end of the prime timeline's TV shows and movies, but an episode of Star Tre: Enterprise suggested that the name would be used at least another twice when Captain Archer found himself briefly in the future aboard the USS Enterprise-J. Because that future ship was only part of a possible timeline we havne't included it in this design for purposes of purity. What you see in this design are the outlines of the magnificent seven prime timeline vessels bearing the name Enterprise.
